Phewwwww. Right now I am on to my next dog sitting gig and this is probably the first night in a while where I have really been able to relax! It's been crazy lately, especially starting my job and getting back to Jackson, so it's good to be able to watch TV and surf the internet for a few hours.
Since my last post, I attended an amazing performance as part of the International Ballet Competition.
I took our intern (who is an international student from Trinidad) to the performance. She was so amazed by everything because she had A) Never been in a formal music/performance hall before (she said the stage and red velvet curtain looked like a magic show) and B) she had never seen a ballet performance before. It was so amazing to see her reaction to everything because I am so used to these types of performances, especially being involved with theatre in high school, as well as my sister being a ballet dancer for years.
I wish I could show you photos of Philadanco (Philadelphia Dance Company, the ballet company performance we attended), but they were very strict about no photos and no cell phones!
We also had a great Father's Day lunch on Sunday. Every (veggie) dish was local (trying to get as close to farm to table as possible) with Mississippi veggies from either Fresh Way or Belhaven Market. It was really fun to see everything.
Tomatoes, eggplant casserole, squash, green been bundles, corn, peas, corn bread, chicken.
